Memphis, TN –

Alpha Kappa Alpha, founded in 1908 at Howard University, is the oldest sorority established by African American college women. The membership works to provide leadership in cutting across racial, geographical, political, physical, and social barriers to provide service in an increasingly complex world. Today, AKA has a worldwide membership of over 200,000. AKA has a strong presence in Memphis, with branches at LeMoyne Owen, Rhodes, Christian Brothers, and the University of Memphis.

Memphis Moments is co-produced by the Pink Palace Family of Museums (http://www.memphismuseums.org) and WKNO-FM and airs on Tuesdays and Thursdays during All Things Considered on the WKNO Stations.
