Radio Roundtable: Helping Memphians this Holiday Season

This week on the Behind the Headlines Radio Roundtable, a discussion with some of the Mid-South's charitable organizations about the need for extra help during the holiday season.

Host Eric Barnes, publisher of the Memphis Daily News, holds a discussion with Sally Jones Heinz of MIFA, Estella Mayhue-Greer of the Mid-South Food Bank, Barbara Tillery of the Salvation Army, and Bill Dries, senior reporter for the Memphis Daily News on the special help requested by these organizations to assist those Memphians most in need during the holidays.

My mother introduced me to WKNO-FM and public radio long before I can remember. I suppose the first thing I really recall about WKNO-FM is that every afternoon, when my mother picked me up from school, the radio was tuned-in to The World, then All Things Considered, probably beginning around age 8. The way these reporters and hosts took you from the comfort of your mom's van to wherever in the world they were reporting from absolutely fascinated me. From then on, I was officially hooked.
