Healthy Meals 101

At the end of your workday, you are tired and hungry. It is dinnertime.

You reluctantly decide to drive through the nearest fast food restaurant. If only you had the time to prepare a healthy delicious meals!

As the old adage says, fail to plan and plan to fail.

Carve out time in your schedule each week to do meal planning. Keep it simple, start off planning a few meals and snacks for the week. Having a meal plan will help you save time and money on your weekly trip to the grocery store or farmer's market.

The next step is what I like to call shopping and chopping.

Once you bring your groceries home, commit to washing, chopping and preparing your grocery items for the week. If this seems overwhelming, try shopping for some vegetables that are already chopped. It may cost more, but if it helps you to accomplish your goal, it is worth it.

Lastly, let's display those healthy items that your have prepared for the week. Don't hide your vegetables in the bottom drawer of your refrigerator! Purchase attractive containers for your healthy
food items. Place the containers at eye level so they are appealing and ready to eat. Just grab your prepared carrot sticks and hummus and voila! you have a healthy snack.
