Middle Tennessee Fiber Festival

Darel Snodgrass

A Checking on the Arts road trip, to a unique event.

The Middle Tennessee Fiber Festival is a gathering of fiber artists, spinners, weavers, knitters, vendors, and of course sheep, from all over the South and well beyond. The Festival takes up 3 buildings and a barn at the Dickson County Fairgrounds, and is now into it’s 11th year. Joel Hurd and I spoke to Festival organizer Beth Collier of Three Creeks Farm, and well as several fascinating vendors.

I began piano lessons at age 6, trumpet at age 9, and began teaching myself the guitar at 10. My electronics knowledge comes from my father, who had the RCA television and stereo shop in my hometown of Pocahontas, Arkansas for nearly 20 years. My dad is still fixing televisions at age 79.
